Server wide virus scanning and spam checking has been
implemented on Rackshare hosted web sites. All incoming email
is now being checked for viruses and spam.
- VIRUS SCANNING
- If an incoming message is suspected to contain a virus, it is
"quarantined" on our server and it is not sent to you or your
users.
- We will send the original message to you or your user without
the attachment containing the suspected virus. Our mail
scanner will add [VIRUS?] to the beginning of the subject and
insert the following text to the body of the message:
Warning: This message has had one or more attachments
removed. Please read the "VirusWarning.txt" attachment(s)
for more information.
If you wish to receive the original infected attachment,
please send the attached warning message to us at support@rackshare.com
and we will send the quarantined attachment to you.
- We will also send a message to the original sender of the
email and inform them of a problem delivering their message.
- Please note that although our virus scanner is very accurate,
it will not identify all viruses and may on rare occasions
identify a legitimate attachment as a virus.
- SPAM CHECKING
- We are now using the popular SpamAssassin software on all
incoming messages. SpamAssassin uses a variety of tests to
identify "spam" messages.
- If SpamAssassin suspects that an incoming email message is
spam, it will add [SPAM?] to the beginning of the subject and
then deliver it to your mailbox. This will help you to
identify and filter possible spam messages.
- Please note that although SpamAssassin is very accurate, it
will not identify all spam and may on rare occasions identify
a legitimate email as spam.
- SUPPORT
-

service and examining ways to improve it. If you have any
