- September 4, 2007 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- All Bronze and above packages have had their email accounts increased from 100 MB to 250 MB.
- April 21, 2007 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- A maintenance window by the Tucows registrar will occur on
4/21/2007 from 10 PM to 1 AM EDT, during which time you will be
unable to register, renew or manage domain names. The 3 hour
outage will be followed by up to 6 hours of degraded
performance as the registrar moves its equipment to a new data center.

- February 28, 2007 - osCommerce Integration
- osCommerce is a popular open source ecommerce application used by online
businesses globally. Rackshare's new osCommerce support applications

osCommerce. With the launch of this application, Rackshare helps bring

- February 23, 2007 - PHP 5 Now Available
- PHP 5 is now available for all Bronze and higher
Web Hosting Plans.
If you wish to continue using PHP 4.4.1, a new PHP Manager application
has been made available within your WebsiteOS which allows you to switch between
PHP 5 and PHP 4.4.1. There is no delay when moving from version of PHP
to another, the change takes place immediately on your site.
- February 11, 2007 - Web Hosting Plans Upgraded
- All of our web hosting plans
have been upgraded. Disk space was doubled,
as was monthly transfer capacity. Enjoy.
- September 24, 2006 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- A maintenance window by the COM/NET registry will occur on
9/24/2006 from 9 PM to 9:45 PM EDT, during which time you will be
unable to register, renew or manage .COM and .NET domain names.
- September 23, 2006 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our domain name and SSL
certificate provisioning and management systems on 9/23/2006
from 10 PM to 1 AM EDT, during which time you will be unable
to register, renew or manage domain names and SSL certificates.
- September 24, 2006 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- A minor maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name Registration System on
9/24/2006 from 9 PM to 10 PM EDT, during which time you will be
unable to register, renew or manage .COM and .NET domain names.
- June 25, 2006 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on the database of our Domain Name Registration System on
6/25/2006 from 9 PM to 10 PM EDT, during which time you will be
unable to register, renew or manage .COM and .NET domain names.
- June 17, 2006 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name Registration System on
6/17/2006 from 10 AM to 11 AM EDT, during which time you will be unable
to register, renew or manage .INFO domain names.
- June 10, 2006 - Web Services Maintenance
- We will be upgrading sections of our Web services
infrastructure from 1 AM to 5 AM EDT.
Every effort has been made to minimize service disruptions;
any disruption in Web services will be brief. Mail only
customers will not be affected by this maintenance.

- December 17, 2005 - Domain System Maintenance

A major database maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name
Registration System on 12/17/2005 from 10 PM to 6 AM EDT, during which
time you will be unable to register, renew or manage domain names.
Domains will continue to resolve during this period.
- October 2, 2005 - COM/NET/ORG Pricing Updated

The price for COM/NET/ORG registrations, transfers and renewals was
raised to US$13/year. This is the first time we've had to raise our
COM/NET/ORG registration fee in over five years; we regret that
increasing transaction costs made it necessary for us to
make this price change.
- April 15, 2004 - Multilingual Domain Name Update

On April 25, 2004, the COM/NET registry will stop supporting
RACE-encoded Multilingual domain names and begin supporting the new
"Punycode" encoding standard for Internationalized domains.

As a result, your current domain name will be converted from the
RACE encoded form to the new Punycode form between April 22 and
April 23.
- July 19, 2003 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name Registration System on
7/19/2003 from 11 AM to 3 PM EDT, during which time you will be unable
to register, renew or manage .org domain names. This Registry
imposed Maintenance Window will affect all Registrars equally.
- April 2, 2003 - Email AntiVirus and Spam Filtering
- Rackshare has implemented server wide virus scanning and spam checking
on Rackshare hosted web sites. All incoming email is now being
checked for viruses and spam. More info is here.
- March 31, 2003 - UK Domain Name Renewals Now Available
- UK domain name renewals are now available through the Rackshare
Domain Name Renewal System.
Please note that UK domain names extensions occur only on the date of
original expiry, so if you transfer your domain name away from Rackshare
prior to its original date of expiration, you will lose any extension
added to your domain. We can not offer refunds for UK domain name
extensions.
- March 29, 2003 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name Registration System on
3/29/2003 from 10 AM to 2 PM EDT, during which time you will be unable
to register, renew or manage .info and .org domain names. This Registry
imposed Maintenance Window will affect all Registrars equally.
- March 23, 2003 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name
Registration System on 3/23/2003 from 9 PM to 1 AM EDT, during
which time you will be unable to register, renew or manage .com
and .net domain names (including internationalized domain names).
- March 1, 2003 - Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) Update
- The registry operator of .com and .net has announced that
Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) under .com and .net will
require renewal starting 9 March 2003. This means that all IDNs
under .com and .net that are set to expire on or after this date
must be renewed or they will be deleted.

The registry operator of .org has announced that the registration
period for IDNs under .org will be temporarily extended for an
indefinite period and without charge. At present, the registry
operator has implemented a registry lock on all existing IDN
registrations under .org. They will announce their new policy once
the standard for Internationalized Domain Names has been finalized.
At this time, the .org registry is NOT accepting new IDN
registrations for .org. We will update you with new information as
it becomes available.
- January 25, 2003 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Maintenance will be performed on our Domain Name Registration
System on 01/25/2003 from 9 AM to 5 PM EDT, during which time
you will be unable to register, renew or manage domain names.
- Additionally, you will be unable to register, renew or manage all
ORG domain names beginning on Saturday 01/25/2003 at 9 AM and ending
on Sunday 01/26/2003 at 5 PM as the ORG domain is transitioning to a
new registry.
- Effective Sunday, January 26, 2003, it will no longer be possible to
register Multilingual Domain Names for .org. The new .org Registry
will only support the existing .org Multilingual Domains. New
registrations for Multilingual .org's will not be possible.
- January 10, 2003 - .BIZ and .INFO Update
- Rackshare is now offering one year registrations for .BIZ and .INFO
domain names. .BIZ and .INFO domain names previously required a two
year minimum registration.
- January 1, 2003 - Domain Registration System Maintenance
- Domain name services will be taken offline for a registry
imposed scheduled maintenance window on Saturday, January 4, 2003 from
9:00 PM to 11:00 PM EDT (01:00 - 03:00 UTC). This will affect all
domain registrations, renewals, transfers and modifications. We apologize for
any inconvenience that this may cause you.
- November 9, 2002 - Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) Update
- We are pleased to announce that all Multilingual Domain Names that were scheduled
to come up for renewal between November 9, 2002 and January 9, 2003 have
been given a two month extension free of charge. The WHOIS database
should now show the revised expiration date.
